About Cornerstone English Tutoring

I’m a TEFL-certified English tutor with a particular interest in IELTS preparation and academic English. I work with children, young people, and adults, helping learners develop the skills and confidence to communicate more comfortably in English.

My teaching style is flexible, creative, inclusive, and empathetic. I take the time to understand each learner as an individual, adapting my lessons to their needs, confidence, and goals. I want learners to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills in a supportive environment.

More Than Just English

One of the things I love most about teaching is the unexpected conversations that happen along the way.

During one of my workshops, a student shared a simple thought that stayed with me: “Everything in life passes, and everything in life is decided.” They were still finding the English words to express their ideas, but the meaning behind them was clear and thoughtful.

Moments like this remind me that teaching is a two-way experience. My students are not simply learning from me - I learn from them too. Their experiences, ideas, and perspectives often shape the way I teach.

Alongside one-to-one tuition, I have experience delivering interactive group workshops for international students and professionals, including learners from Kazakhstan through partnerships with local universities and online programmes. I have also worked with refugees, supporting learners from diverse backgrounds to develop their English, confidence, and communication skills.

These experiences have strengthened my belief in creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels heard, supported, and able to participate.
